Looks like we picked the wrong day to eat habaneros!

LOS MINDA BROTHERS

THEN: The Minda Brothers (Pictured: me with Dave, July '07) is a band, and more importantly a family, that I have been a proud part of for a very long time. I'm the only one in the band who's not named Minda.  We played from 1987 to 1998.
This is some material that we did some time ago, and that I re-engineered at my studio.  These songs are a small piece of a very rewarding and simpler time in our lives. To listen to some of this, you'll need a good copy of Winamp and a tall glass of whiskey, preferably neat!  Paul Minda is the bassist and singer. He is now an Assistant Professor in the Department of Psychology at the University of Western Ontario.

FAST FORWARD TO NOW: Guitarist Dave Minda continues to make music his life.  He released a CD with his own band Dave Minda's Fatback Blues Band.  "I Toast You!" is a great journey through the blues.  Check it out at www.mindabrothers.com. He's in all honesty, perhaps the best slide guitarist I've ever heard. If you get a chance to see him play, you won't be sorry. He and I still play together here and there.  Percussionist and Harp blower Nick Minda is a Police officer in Ohio. Lastly, I hacked my way through on guitar and/or drums on this material as well - except songs #1 and #3. #9 was kind of fun for me.  I took a Neil Peart drum track and recorded all the other instruments, just to see if I could.  It's a Rush instrumental from 1993.

*1 IN YOUR ARMS (p.minda-d.minda-k.pidgeon) *4 PHONE BOOTH  (r,cray) 7. DRUNK ON CHEAP WHISKEY (d. minda) Dave sings. He and I trade leads on this track. From CD  "I Toast You."
*2 LONELY AVENUE (ray charles) *5 SHE'S TUFF  (k.wilson j.vaughan) *8 FIRE (Revisited) -I was playing with my new recording equipment and thought I'd learn by playing 19 tracks, re-imagining an old song of Paul's that we did in '88...(P. Minda)
*3 NEVER GONNA FIND A WAY (p.minda-d.minda k.pidgeon) *6 BROKEN CHAINS (p.minda-d.minda-k.pidgeon) 9. Leave That Thing Alone.  Neil Peart and me (Lee, Lifeson, Peart). It really is Neil's drum track.  I attempted to play the other instruments. I'm actually playing a Geddy Lee Fender Jazz Bass on this, too!
